In addition to its broad array of individually commissioned articles, the Oxford Research Encyclopedia of Anthropology includes articles from special edited collections on select subfields, which are also published as stand-alone printed volumes.
The Oxford Encyclopedia of African Archaeology
The Oxford Encyclopedia of African Archaeology aims to gather a wide array of scholars from Africa and across the world to reflect on various aspects of deep and recent histories of the African continent. Through this work, the project will engage archaeologists working in other regions by drawing them to comparative material from Africa and to perennial issues of significance in Africa. By according particular weight to Africa-based scholars, the Encyclopedia will be able to offer a variety of historically overlooked, hidden, and/or marginalized perspectives.
