Summary

Ammonius, a pupil of Aristarchus, was a grammarian working in Alexandria in the second half of the second century bce. He was probably Aristarchus’ successor at the head of the Library. From the few fragments remaining of his activity, he seems to have worked on Homer, on Plato’s borrowings from Homer, on Pindar, and on Aristophanes.
