Memmius (1), Gaius tribune 111 bce, attacked the nobles for corruption in dealing with *Jugurtha. He summoned Jugurtha to Rome, but a colleague prevented his interrogation. He was a vigorous prosecutor before the tribunals of C. *Mamilius Limetanus. Praetor after 107, he was prosecuted for extortion (probably) in Macedonia, but acquitted despite M.
