Colossi of Memnon were two seated statues of Amenophis III on the west bank of the Nile at *Thebes (2) below the mortuary temples and necropolis of the Memnoneia. The latter is mentioned in UPZ174 of 150 bce. *Strabo (17. 1. 46) visited the colossi with *Aelius Gallus in 26/5bce.Subjects
