Thesproti, a people mentioned in Homer's Odyssey with a king of *Ephyra in the Acheron valley (in this region a tholos-tomb and Mycenaean weapons have been found; see mycenaean civilization) and probably extending over *Epirus in the late bronze age. Later confined to south-west Epirus, their territory included for a time *Dodona and always the Nekyomanteion or Oracle of the Dead.Subjects
